  1. OK, my turn. Putting this thread to rest now. #1 I'm not going to put a Flat Head into it. #2 To the guy that says I have had this car for sale ever since I joined on here you are so incorrect in your comment. I joined this site in 2011 and I have only owned this car for a little over a year. As far as the changes I have made it is to my liking and it is my car like it or not I really don't care !! I do not like plain steel wheels and bias ply tires. I'm also getting another set of chrome reverse wheels for the rear and will be installing a set of pie crust slicks on them of local driving. And once again this is a look I like and it's my hot rod and if you don't like the new look just move on. I've always been one to NOT bash another's ride or changes they make to there car to make it there own. PLEASE end this thread and move on with life !! Happy Hot Rodding... Maybe see a few of you in Louisville this summer. YES I do drive the shit out of this hot rod. Just got back from Pigeon Forge Rod Run last week.....

You did ask for thoughts and opinions...........o_O
If you know what you like, and know what you want to do, maybe your very first post was a little misleading.

  5. No not really, I had a change of heart once looking into different options and have decided this is not the car to put a flat head motor in. So sorry to upset all that have commented your professional opinions. Just please end this thread and move on with your lives. I'm still going to do what I like and makes me happy. Happy Hot Rodding. Drive your shit and enjoy the life you have left. Life is to short for the small stuff !! DONE...

  8. my idea i gave earlier will still work if you really want a flathead, you can get a really good condition '46-'48 for a relatively low price, same with a '35-'36. or a '53 ford car. even a sedan still has a flathead v8, i would look for a manual transmission car as thats what i prefer, but getting an automatic is also possible in the later flatheads. it'll be cheaper to buy a whole driving car than buy a rebuilt 8BA.

Sedans and coupes look and feel the exact same from the drivers seat.

I gotta say and others may do the “internet bitch slap” on me, but the “it’s my car now, I’ll do what I want” is fine by me.
I understand those that think opposite and I don’t disagree with that attitude either.
Would one not sell their house at the asking price if you heard the buyer talk about changing something up that you custom built?

I totally agree with you. I have that attitude as well. Nobody would stop the OP from putting a flathead in, putting 26 inch rims on, or putting the car in a demolition derby. Where the issue arises is when you're looking for the opinions or approval of others. You can't necessarily have it both ways. The OP here literally said in his first post "Looking for thoughts and opinions". You have to be prepared for some people to say that their thought and opinion is that it's fucking stupid. If you're going to do it your way, do it your way. Such is the life of pretty much anybody who builds a custom versus a rod. There are always opinions on what someone else would have done differently.
