Would like to replace the stock shifter on my C3 auto box (think these were fitted to ford pinto/mustang 2)for something nicer looking but simple to bolt on. The box is a Ford C3, companies such as Lokar, Gennie etc do shifters for every other box except this model has anyone out there fitted/adapted these or know of any other company who make shifters for this auto box?

    Thanks

I have seen the Mustang II shifter adapted to all sorts of other transmissions (it was popular here in the 70s), so I would think it wouldn't be too hard to adapt one made for a C4 or other 3 speed automatic to your C3. At most, you're talking about bending or re-making the linkage rods. A cable style shifter would be even easier, though you may have to modify the cable bracket to get the right pull on it.
