Technical Replacing the spring

Anyone know how to replace the "Over center clutch pedal return spring" ? It seems like a pretty strong spring.It is inside the car up behind the dash where the pedal pivots.

I've used washers on alternating sides of the springs between the coils to extend the spring before, which also works on hood springs. The downside is that you need a ton of washers. Good luck and be careful!

As stated above, use flat washers. Hook one end of spring to axle of floor jack, other end of spring to the lift pad of jack, raise the jack, stretching the spring slightly longer than need to connect, insert enough flat washers (large ones) between the coils to keep spring stretched, release jack, install spring, pull out washers. Or place one end of spring (the hook only) in a vise, grab other end of spring, bend it over, spreading coils, install a washer, bend the opposite direction, repeat alternating back and forth, etc.
