WOW, I cant believe this snobbery!
FIRST, every thing is listed as "STYLED" not concours correct duplicates
SECOND, you have to consider these as blank canvas's, or do all of you just copy cat other artists works?
THIRD, well actually thats all i got.

I don't consider it snobbery at all. It may be listed as "styled" but it has no style at all. The sides are basically completly flat, yea I guess that is a blank canvas, but if you have the ability to put a nice contour into a body panel you would just make it from scratch. You wouldn't try to put shape into a flat slab like what we see here.

This just seems lazy. Spot weld some sheet metal together and sell it as "styled". There is nothing wrong with making something "styled" after a stock body style but it has to have some shape. I think a lack of body lines looks dumb, but at least having some shape on the sides would help.

And as far as workmanship goes, the beads on the firewall dont look too great, and the visor and roof look pretty warped. Granted pictures can do funny things with metal, but $2250 is a ton of money for a body with flat sides.

Those bodys remind me of the dirt late models we used to build. All you needed was some flat steel and a metal brake, then you had a brand new doorstop looking late model.

    $2250...for that?

i paid $3000 for this, and i could have drove it home...we did drive it around the neighborhood a while before i tore it down[IMG]

your choice...the real thing is out there, just gotta go looking for it, and be ready to grab it when you find em.

    it now looks like this

those unreal bodies are lifeless,,no character, my 11 year old daughter has more vision than that, maybe even my 3 year old dog, but i cant tell, i dont speak K9. But I'll lay a bet that if i put his dog bowl by that "repro" body ..he wouldnt go near it.

HVAC bodies? Looks like heating and a/c ducts.
Rat rod sedans? Maybe shoot a few rounds through them and sand blast some cancer into them, then place them outside to rust for a year or two.

I remember seeing these "A" 's on ebay but it was just the cowls. Jeez, these bodies look like something done up real quick for a parade or a department store window display. UUUUgh!

I've 'lifted' a small collection of these pictures from some of the great threads around here lately. But that's getting off of a tangent related to New Metal Customs and not the original question. I don't know of any reproduction steel sedans. I'd think there would be little demand for that.

Well lowon***...I did not make my own body but I did make many mods to it, Chopped top 2 1/2 in,filled the roof, welded and filled all the seams, stretched the hood 3/4 in, bobbed the rear fenders and widened them 1 1/2 in,and made new running boards. If you want to see pics look at my albums,I have some pics there of some of the work.As for your comment Yes I could make one better, but if I couldn't I would not be trying to sell them!
