  1. It's looking like we'll actually have fairly good weather for Sunday at BCC. Hope you're recovered enough to make it. If so, see ya there.

Hi Bob, I plan on being there.

My Doc lets me drive now so I am looking forward to it.

BTW: I ordered 80 degree weather.

  3. That's a good point.

Welcome back, Rolf! I hope your wife continues in remission and your back heals up nice and quick. :)

I can't imagine how difficult it must've been for you to make the decision to sell your A coupe. It's one of the reasons I'm building mine. Can't tell you how many times I've read your build thread here and on your site. Thank you for that. Loving the "new" 5 window and I can't wait to see what you do with it and the roadster!

Looks great! Big improvement. If the lettering is just 1-Shot, try Easy Off Oven Cleaner. I've used it before to remove 1-Shot and it didn't wreck the paint under it. Not sure how it will work with flat paint/primer, but maybe you can do a small test?

    Thanks Tommy.

Sometimes you just know when it time...besides, building car is the best part so it was time for new opportunities.

Mmmm...never thought of that. Well, the text is enamel so if I can find something that disolves the enamel but not the DP primer we may have something. I will test. Thanks !

I have a '50s little book that says you can strip enamel pinstriping off a lacquer dash with enamel thinner (mineral spirits?), but not vice versa.

Good thinking Dave. I did try that, but you can't dissolve enamel with mineral spirit after it has dried.

I will just sand it down and shoot the lower part. It is just DP primer and the grille shell matched just fine. I may pay someone to spray it since my doc don't want me painting hot rods until I am healed up.

I will figure something out, no prob.

Awesome stuff Rolf. Love your sense of humor and candidness in describing your improvements.

    Hello there Rolf!

I ran into that Nailhead coupe of yours a couple of years ago and it made my day. Still does.
If there is one car that's really been a propellant for my own interest and made a kick in the ass, that's the one.

    Glad You're back on track.
Life can be a rough roadtrip sometimes. This I know now after having lost both my parents this spring and summer.

    So, You hang in there!
Spend time together and don't forget to fill your days with life than the other way around.

Hej Gunnar, I am sorry to hear about your parents.

We all go thru bumpy times but all we can do is press on.
