You do have a point, I honestly did not plan to go this "far". I planned to run the thing in regular primer for at least a season, and then decide.

It is all loggy's (on the HAMB) "fault", he m***aged the metal so well, we decided to do the "faux" primer.

In retrospect, I should probably gone with shiny paint, but I still plan to drive the piss out of it, so this is kinda a compromise. Rock chips coming up ! :D

Thanks all for great feedback, it is great motivation ! :)

Don't change anything, including paint. It looks great like you built it. Keep using your own ideas...............you're doing quite well without someone else's advice...............Mike

Rolf is a real humble guy. He is a true detail freak(in a good way). And can imagine that this is the first car he has built from the ground up. That alone should be inspiration for some of you guys that are working on your first car. See, they don't all have to be rat rods(gawd I hate that term) Awesome job my Swedish brother!!!!!

I've got draftsmans hands and damn few tools, but I know what I like . . .

And my God, do I like this :D

Just spent the last hour looking through the entire build gallery.

Rolf, you are a true craftsman. I love your routing of the exhaust "shlang".

    Cl***ic !!

    Rolf,

This is, without a doubt, the most outstanding car I have seen on the HAMB. I have been impressed by many of the cars, but nothing compares to what you have done with your coupe. I was very interested in what Dirty31 had to say, and if you don't mind, my Pops will be touching base with you in the future while he builds an A-Coupe for my kid sister. He has collected about 80% of what needs to build it. If it come anywhere close to what you have done it will be an awsome car.

Thank you for sharing and inspiring all of us.

I agree this A has some awesome simple details. Your coupe will be a fantastic example for anyone. This is what the HAMB is all about building traditional safe hot rods to be proud of.

Yeah, sorry, I should have called it VINTAGE Bling-Bling ! I didn't mean to elude to 22 inch Dubs or something like that :D

    Yes it is...

Anytime, I am glad to help if I can. Remember, I am not an authority on this, there are many "old-timers" on this board that learned from, but I am happy to share what I learned. My web site maybe a good reference as well.

Rolf - What size rim did you put your 750s on? EDIT - ADD - I just did a search after I posted this and found your build index. Looks like you just used the 4 inchers. With a tube, a 4" rim and those 750's ought to be fine. Hell even in the current Rodders Journal, the bare metal A roadster -the guy used 4" rims with 750s and consulted Corky Bell about it. So - there you have it - That's what I am doing.

That build web index is awesome. All right - carry on.

Rolf, if thats not the coolest A coupe I've ever seen its in the top 2, If it's not too much trouble can you post the type of paint and treatment that you used on the car, It's just what I have been looking for to finish my A, though in a different shade. I'd be grateful, Congrats on a super job.
God, please tell me nobody's gonna have the cajunes to call this one a rat rod :D

It's regular paint (obviously mixed to mimic a primer, just a bit more red for a little "pop") with PPG Flex-n-Flat clear on top, so it's UV resistant.
