Hot Rods Report on the confused 34/32 pickup

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by HOTRODPRIMER, Mar 13, 2016.

  1. It's been a long time since I posted about my pal Daves confused pickup,Dave has been busy working on cars for his friends and has finally found time to work on his truck again.

Dave started the project in 2008 and it has been a on again ,off again deal but it looks like the truck will be finished this year.

This photo shows the truck from my previous update.

These are the current photos and I will add the earlier treads also. HRP

Dave has started painting the truck, the frame was painted last year, but he has been working on the body and paint recently, still a few pieces need to be painted.

You might notice that Dave has changed the wheels to chrome reverse.

Nice work. Like the color and engine choice. Also like the full height cab.

  5. I like it. Thought about painting mine gold earlier. Its going to look nice. I think the trucks looks soooo much better with full fenders on them.

  7. Since this project started Dave has talked about painting the truck several colors, black, red and had decided on a nice blue color and even bought the paint only to us it on a friends model A.

The gold does look great! HRP

  9. I know how that is. I bought orange for mine before deciding on blue but recently bought black. Its a tough decision to pick a color.
Danny, are those Brookville front fenders on the truck?

  10. Yes Don, he got them from Deuce Roadster several years ago. HRP

  11. Did they have to be modified any? If so, do you have a photo of how they were modified?

  12. Don,as I recall there was some light modification work needed where the rear of the fender met the running board, remember the cab is the only 34 ford part, frame and fenders are Deuce, HRP

  13. Yes, I remember that. I was going to buy some Brookville steel fronts for my coupe and was wondering just how much trouble I am going to have to make them fit properly.

  15. Don,you know how these old cars are, some take more work than others but a pie cut in the fender where it attached to the running board, nothing major. HRP
