  1. Looks great! I assume the wood frame on the top of the bed is for a tonneau cover?

HRP , Dave certainly has a cool little pickup.
As far as the dynamat goes did you manage to fit some inside the doors ? If so what's the trick to rolling it out? Would like to have some sound deadening in ours , but from memories of a past pickup we owned the visor made the most noise when you got to highway speed.

  5. To my knowledge Dave didn't use the Dynamat in the doors. HRP

  6. Merlin & I went to Daves this afternoon to pick up the steelies that were on Dave's confused before he swapped them out for the chrome reverse wheels.

Harry will be using them on his Deuce project.

Dave's working a lot of overtime so he hasn't done much since the last update but I took a few photo's now that he added the hood. HRP

  16. Several years ago I drove my '32 pickup over 600 miles in one day,I'm 6'4" and 230 lbs & to be perfectly honest it was brutal.

The last two hundred miles I had to stop a lot and stretch.

    250 to 300 miles wasn't a problem. HRP

  18. One thing I would suggest,If it is a 32 remove the gas tank under the seat and build a short riser and build a thinner seat bottom and back and you will gain a good bit of room. HRP

  19. Hopefully by the end of next week I can post a few updates,Dave is off next week and has everything on hand to start the upholstery work and run the exhaust.HRP

  20. Great looking truck!

I'm "confused" what color did you say that was, code?
Could have been painted turd Brown and it would still be one of the nicest little P/U's around in any era!
That Black one ain't bad either. I think with your help I have talked myself into needing one!

  22. I never said what color it was but Dave told me today the paint is Dupot Hot Hues and the color is Pacific Gold.

Sorry we are such bad influences. :D HRP

  23. Yesterday,July 5th I helped install the headliner and the material around the back of the cab,Today Dave built the seat bottom and the back of the seat,he finished up the upholstery on the seat back.

Dave doesn't want me to take interior photo's until it's finished,I will say it's a little different from the norm, the seat and back are vinyl but the insert is Buick brocade cloth.

After the carpet and seat was installed dave wanted to turn the truaceck around so he fired it off for the first time with the gas pedal in place and a seateat without, man the flatty sounds great without exhaust.

Dave drove down the driveway and made a hard left and took off down the road to the stop sign and back, about a mile,he backed the truck in the shop with a huge grin on his face.

We will take the truck to the muffler shop in the morning and hopefully ny the end of the week the windshield will be installed, the interior will be sewn up (forgive the pun) the tonneau cover made and the material sewn up that covers the chains.plus a lot of odds and ends. HRP

  24. Took the truck to the muffler shop this morning and they installed a stainless exhaust and Magnaflow mufflers.

Dave worked on the interior this afternoon but decised to knock off early today.HRP

  25. Crappy cell phone photo's of the first time Dave drove the truck. HRP

  26. I was at Dave's this morning and watched as he cut and sewed up the tonneau cover and later I played monkey by handing him the snaps, two at a time to install.

    Covering up a pretty bed.

The cover is just laying on the bed with all 4 corners snapped in place.

All snaps installed and it looks good.

  27. The confused pickup has most of the interior finished,Dave ran out of upholstery clips so the kick panels are still on the work bench, the seat is finished as is the door panels.

The material is vinyl & Buick brocade cloth on the seat and the doors.

Hopefully you can see the pattern of the brocade in the seat. HRP

Dave has used this ash tray in both his previous builds,a 34 Ford truck and a 40 Ford coupe.

And a nice looking heater, seems a little ludicrous right now with the thermometer hpuvering around 100 degrees but eventually it will get cold.

This is Dave,I think I heard him making motor noises, you may also notice the windshield has not been installed yet,With me still recovering from my accident we chose to wait for additional help after lunch,3 pair of hands would work better & safer than 3 hands.

    That's it for now.HRP
