Technical requesing help IDing straight/dropped front end

Discussion in 'Traditional Hot Rods' started by applekrate, Sep 20, 2013.

  1. Can anyone tell me for sure what this was originally equipped on? A decade back I bought a '66 'glass funny car body and this front end came with it. Not sure if it was installed on that car or just parts collected with it. Some of it looks aftermarket, other parts appear to have come off of something. Any help appreciated. Thank you.

It looks Econoline- ish to me. Second thought, no it doesn't.

With the rounded ends I sort of thought maybe it was that too.

  6. If it is a Willys. Is that desireable or less so? Am into hot rodding just, not into this style front end so, do not know.

Also, what year(s) Willys would it be? Can I get parts for it OK?
    Hubs have a 4 1/2" bolt circle.

Yes it's a Willys axle, they have different diameter king pins depending on which year. There are a few threads on here with tech. on them, switching to Ford spindles, and what type brakes you can use.

Here is one in it's origonal surroundings, and one on a FED....good stuff.
