I have a model A frame and am collecting parts to start assembling a 50's hot rod.

The frame number is A6879425, but I can't seem to find any information on what hear it might be.

    Any direction would be appreciated.

  2. Search for motor Serial numbers. Ford would stamp the motor number on the frame when installing the motor and before installing the body.

  3. That number looks too big to be a Model A Ford number. The Model A Ford Club shows that the last Model A engine number produced was A4849340 in early 1932. Their page is at: http://www.mafca.com/data_eng_production.html
    But, weirder things have happened.
    Best Wishes,

  4. Just looked on Ford Garage(google) looks like nov 1928.

Supposedly 5 million were built. The A is clear, the first number is not all there, It looked to be a 6, the rest of the numbers were clear. The number cannot be A6879425.

I have got to find a way to pull the number up. I do not have the engine, only the frame. Its definately a 7 digit number. The top half of the number is missing and the bottom half is not very clear. It could possible have been a 3 or a 5. A 5 would have still been too big. The bottom part of the number is round, so it could have not been a 1,2,or 4. Its a never ending search. If it is a 3, it would have been made Sept. 1930.

The frame has rust, not really bad, I put some water on the number that made it easier to read, tomorrow, I will put some oil on it and get a magnifying glass.
    Thanks everyone
