  1. The original engine would be a nice conversation piece.

  2. ...like your truck a bunch, keep us posted;...my 48 F-1 has the same drivetrain as yours,
    can't beat a Chevy banger.

So...in other words...you're building a Chevy pickup, but using International sheet metal. Is that about right? Other than the Binder sheet metal, didn't GM already do that?

Klaus, ill let ya know on the steering wheel. it looked good but need to double check it.

well got the front end off over the weekend and tore it apart today. now i did have to redo the cutouts for the frame as the 170 does have a wider frame. have to resize the pics so will get them up asap.
we also got the the truck to fire up and it sounds great and it rolled up the lane under its own power from where it was sitting

  9. Look so nice and I so good shape! Lucky you. I had too rebuild ours from half up into the headlights and down, then I had the possibility to change the, in my humble opinion, mistake ihc made, having square parking lights on the L-series.

well finally got the cab home yesterday. cleaned of the extras off the firewall, removed the seat and such on the inside and gave it a good vacuuming. plans are to clean up the firewall of un-needed holes, clean and paint the top and bottom of the floors and reshape part of the toeboard for the slight rise i need for trans clearence.

been tinkering on the truck the past few days, have the m/c brake pedal botled up on the new cab. drilled a new hole for the steeing column, an have the setting on the frame. only thing is i had to change up the front cab mounts to bolt on top of the frame. still need to get the back mounts in yet. it does raise the cab up about an inch which isnt to bad atleast. hoping to get the front spring cut down, weld up a few more holes on the firewall, and whatever else i can get done.

wellit wa on of those day all kinds of things around the house, cleaning up in the garage alittle and staring at the truck not liking the way the new cab sits higher then the original one did on the account of the mounts. so between mowning grass and moving things around in the garage i removed the mounts and just studying it all i came up with this idea. it actually drops it back down 1.5" which make me happy. i do have to revamp the rear cab mounts also. now i will will be moving the m/t forward 1/2 an inch to to give the little extra play at the floor/firewall.
