History Resurrected Dream Rod in Rod & Custom

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by seesko, Oct 26, 2009.

  1. When I was growing up in Wichita all the kids I hung out with and their older brothers were all into the Dream Rod. The model was very popular. The first time I saw the AMT model and pictures it really made an impact on me. It was one of the first custom cars I remember and always a favorite.
I didn't know until I got into cars more and quite a few years later that Bill Cushenberry was from Wichita. I guess that's why it was such a popular car down there. I remember a Cushenberry paint shop a few blocks off East Douglas in the late late 70's Guessing he was a brother to Bill.
In my wildest dreams I never thought I'd see the real thing in person 44 years later. Better than when it was new.
