Retrofitting 50's GM Windshields

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by crazyman, Feb 14, 2006.

  1. I have a '50 Chevy Sedan Delivery and am trying to figure out if I can put an Olds one piece windshield in it. Does anyone know what years fit? I do know it's one inch taller than the '51 Business Coupe I have, and the '51 Fastback. Is the the later Chevy 53-54 taller, or the same. Would one of these retrofit? Any information would be appreciated. CRAZYMAN:D

According to my Hollander's manual, the following windshields interchange with the '49-'52 Sedan Delivery:

Chevrolet: - '49-'52 Styleline, exc. Conv., Hardtop, & Sta. Wgn.

    Olds: - '49-Early'50 - 76, 88 2D.
    - Sdn. jobs 3569, D; 3769, D; 3727, D
    - Club Coupe jobs 3527 D; 3727 D
    - Olds early '50 - 76, 88 2D Tourback Sdn.

Pontiac: - '49-'52 Chieftain, exc. Conv., Hardtop, Sta. Wgn.

The NAGS # is W-187 for the '50 Olds 88 1 piece to replace 2 piece '49-'52 Chev & Pontiac humpbacks & sedan deliveries, W-188 fits fastbacks, & W-189 for hardtops & converts ... Be sure to remove the little screw in the bottom of the pinch weld when you saw the centerpost out.
