Lots of nice stuff at Retromobile this year and I will post HAMB friendly stuff later, but the stars, for me, were a French team of trike enthusiasts who had decided to go to Bonneville and come away with at least one world record. To maximise their chances of success they decided to build some fairly odd stuff (they are French remember). They built a 49cc Mobylette combination and a turbocharged Reliant. Maximum speed for the Mobylette was 55.6 mph and for the 850cc Reliant was over 140mph. In total they took 9 world records!! Spirit of the Salt indeed!! Have a look at their Salt Week album here; http://www.lestriplettesdebonneville.com/Pages/Album/Album.aspx
I guess that's why they put a third wheel on it. Part of the game is trying to find categories where you think you can get a world record. That's why you get people blocking off all but three cylinders on a SBC to get it in to some odd category for cubic capacity or whatnot.
Excellent! Those old Peugeot moped motors are fun. You can still buy every tuning part known to man for them from the aftermarket.
