Return to Kingdon!!! May 18-20.

Ok, so they are doing it again! They had such a good turn out last Oct. that they are doing it again. And get this, it's three days!!! May 18 - 20 2007!
$20 bucks to get it,
$20 to show or
$20 to race
$100 bucks for all three days

From what I understand, Fri is a test n tune day, Sat is racing, Sun is finals.
Sounds like they are gonna have timing and slips.
Tech is actually supposed to be somewhat realistic, so be prepared.

Last year was a blast! Try to make it this year if you can.

I think I might have to have a little shindig at the shop Sat. nite.

I don't know about that,...but it's gonna be good. Definately need some more trad cars out there. I had a blast out there, and people really liked watching the older cars and hot rods race. Last time they let us do grudge match/race your buddy type stuff. There was only a light and no timing equipment, so it was really fun. This time I think it,s gonna be the real deal. Come find me in the pits and grab a brew at my shop on saturday night.

 

I remeber when I was a kid in Stockton (1957 ish) I had 2 older sisters with boyfriends that had hotrods and took them out to Kingdon drags...I wanted to go sooo bad but now I understand why they didn't want me along....Never did get to go....Maybe this year I'll make it.

Just read the news about the West HAMB drags, and thought I should put this btt. Some more news, Saturday will be "competition" and grudge racing.
So, by Competition, I assume Bracket. But I will call the guy to find out more about what "competition" means. They had a couple of altereds out there last year making solos, so this could be interesting. Hope to see you there, and I'm down to race any one of you lame-O's.

I just put a mini-spool in the pork chop. Gettin ready to swap out t-converter,
and may go with a Unilite and ditch the Car Quest Dizzy. Hoping to run high 12's.

We should try to arrange an area where HAMBers and likeminded folk can park together.
Last year, we set up about mid track. Maybe I'll put up my pirate flag, so people can find out where were at. ARRRRRGH! Thar be Pirates here!

More info.

Tech will be NHRA specs. There will be reps on hand that can certify your car, if you want.

There will be timing. Racers will get time slips, and they will be able to do bracket racing, or heads up.

NHRA rules should be viewable somwhere on there website, but I'm not sure.

Get there early friday for test and tune. If theres something keeping you from passing, you'll have time to fix it and go back later.

I know I've got some wor to do to pass.

There will be two classes "Sportsman" (or new cars), and "Nestalgia".
How they are going to race is still undecided. They want more input from the racers. Bracket, or putting cars into time classes? Up to the racers feedback.

I think Noble from Ventura is coming up. Don't know if you know him or not. Also maybe the Parkers? Would love to see some So-Cal kids, the drive is pretty easy, and the hotels are cheap in Stockton. I think there is a link to hotels on the Kingdon site, any on March Ln. would be prime if youre going to stay. Like 10 minuites from the strip, and straight across town from my shop.

If any thing happens to your, or any one elses ride, I'll do what I can to help you get it back home. Scouts honor.

 

Well, we're a week away. This event is gonna be huge.
They've been advertising it on the radio for the last week or so, so get there EARLY!!!
I will be there about 11:00a on friday, and 5:30am on saturday and sunday.

This will be a run what you brung event, so BRING IT!
