I’ve searched for a while and given up, so here’s the question: Should I install 32/34 spring clamps on my 47 spring? The spring originally had the crimped sheet metal grease keepers/dust covers. In dis***embling the spring, they become trash. I’ve noticed that sometimes the leaves twist a bit on other cars, just enough to be noticeable. What do you guys do? The early spring clamps are 1-3/4" while your '47 spring is 2". The fold around clamps from a regular spring shop are kinda ugly. Easy to fab some spring clamps from flat bar stock, also need to drill a hole in the ends of one leaf so clamp has a register.
