Ok so guys what do you know about reverse flow flatheads. I have seen a few pictures nocking around that have intrested me and Id love to find out more. Can any one shead some light on the beasts?
Here is an article briefly explaining the FlatFire reverse flow motor that made 550+HP. Bascially, in this motor it was exhausting through the intake runners and making the exhaust runners the intake system......................much more complicated, but that is the 1 cent tour. Enjoy; http://www.flatfire.com/flatfire2.htm
For you SBC guys, here is a Reverse Flow SBC setup that uses flathead V8 distributor and motorcycle carbs.
1. With the exhaust switched it allows the engine to run cooler. 2. It requires supercharging due to more complicated intake runners. 3. Makes everone to stop and take a second look. 4. The Caddy Flathead had intake and exhaust both on top.
Wow, I kinda forgot about that conversion. That would look great in a rear engine race car from back in the day. That's one helluva build too...
wow A Chopped Coupe thats dam cool. So how is the conversion done Im assuming the flip the crank so its the wrong way round? Do they run cool to the point when a water system isnt needed???

It should be all in the cam , on the old 4 bangers the 2 intake ports become exhaust, the 4 exhaust ports become intake and the engine can really breath!
They even MAKE fuel! You'll need a bigger tank to hold it all. Then Exxon will come to your house, buy your car for 100 bajillion dollars and we'll never see it again! Shawn
