can I hookup the electric fan wire to be used as reverse lights since I am not using an electric fan or power windows circuit, from a new wiring harness? (as my harness does not mention nothing about connecting reverse light and I would need them working for a safety.
it is a for a dodge truck thanks

  2. What is the amp rating of the fuse protecting the electric fan circuit? What is the bulb number of the backup lights and how many amps does that bulb number draw when turned on? The amp rating of the fuse should be slightly higher (5 to 15 percent higher) than the amp rating of the backup lights. So, if I understand your question correctly, I think if you answer the two questions above you will have answered your usage question.

I'm assuming you're simply asking if you can tap power from the fan circuit. In that case, the answer is yes, of course.

As Specs notes, you should double-check the amperage load, but generally speaking, the fan will pull way more juice than any backup lights (unless you're using some HID spotlights or something) so you're almost certainly safe.

    Doc.
