1952-59 Ford Reversing a hood opening direction

Has anyone converted a hood to open like the 57 did? I saw a truck with the hinges off of a 80's model Buick converted and it looked doable on a car.

 

Kits are available for the 53 - 56 Ford pickups, but haven't checked them out to see if they can be adapted for the car.

 

Check out yellowf100, found a post where he mentioned he did it/still fabbing on a 54 Crestline.

 

Saw the pics yellowf100 posted on the main board. It looked pretty easy and straight forward. I saw a few in the results of a google search too. If your a little creative I'm sure you can do it!

It seems like the easiest way would be to adapt the hinges from a 57-58 Ford like these on eBay, $60.
