RF, Custom Rodder

  1. Just looked at the current issue. I want to say that is is really good. I know we are always critiquing and bitching about mags, I thought an attaboy was in order. Even a couple Rockstars 53/54s in there [IMG] Although I did not see their colors..hahhahah

yeah, except for that ABORTION of a '65 Riviera... damn...

it was also funny to me that Rob's editorial was about 'nice'
quasi-high-end stereo systems, and then they had the article on
the 'secret audio' system with the cheesy 6x9 speaker boxes
that sit on the floor..?? Hahaha..!! seemed a bit contradictory...

I still get every issue though...
there's enough 'cool' stuff to keep my interest....

I think I have the latest issue (though not on hand). Got the orange car with the scallops/other paint stuff on it? I thought Damn, that's gotta be a cool car! Then I opened up and saw the nasty wheels. Just about every one of those cars in that issue with the big fag wheels would looks killer with chrome reverses or astros, and skinny whites.

Though the following statement doesn't apply to this issue:

If you feature one more fuckin '62 Chevy, I swear to GOD!!!!!

Really, you thought the Rivi was that bad? I saw it in Vegas and thought the color was right on, and even the bird interior inserts were cool. I like FAG wheels, so those didn't bother me. My new goal in life is to get FAG wheels on every custom out there...including famous cars like the Hirohata. Whitewalls are for Heteros and Meteros!

I thouhght it was a pretty good issue, having owned several 60's chevies I thought the wagon on the cover is right on and the Rivi belongs to a friend of my brothers and the pics and the wheels don't do it justice. Here it is with the wheels it used to ride on. Billets or not in person it is one of the most beautiful Rivi I have ever seen

Go read what Mort has to say about the "young guns" type articles (this months R &C edit.) and columns over at http://www.hopupmag.com/
I just can't relate to them myself, probably because I don't have any kids (that anyone ever cared to tell me about.) I just consider them competition for rare parts...

  15. that rivi is one of my favorites. billit or not, i still like it. course, i know the owner, so mabye i'm partial. as a matter of fact, we dropped off a 55k orig. mile 63 rivi off with him yesterday. gonna be a candy copper/rust. might keep the supreme's on it though, but most of you guy's will probably hate it.

My 2 cents. We cant have all the rags out there having nothing but what we like. We are different and thats it. I have seen stuff in CKD and OSR that I just didnt like, but hey somebody does. Lets not turn into a bunch of Dave Hills. I am not a fan of billet but the pic I just saw on here of the Rivi looks good to me, and no I would not run those wheels. If I do not like what is in a certain rag I just do not buy it, simple as that. I have passed on a Custom Rodder a few times just for that reason. Any way I will shut up now, I aint here to piss anybody off...Danny

HAHA,Fat Hack,I love "The Car".I force myself to watch that fucking wretched movie every time I find it on TV,just to get a boner over the car.Especially like the closeups that show what a shit build it was, but, like that weird El Camino in the Levis ad,I'd still drive it in a heartbeat.I live to scare old ladies and small children [IMG]

Hey Rob, what gives with your website? It won't expand thumbnails. Is that so I have to buy the magazine? I just wanted to see that orange panhead in your expanded japan coverage

williebill...I bought the movie on VHS...watch it maybe once every couple of weeks!!!

Seen it all them times and I still don't understand The Car's motives...

It killed the bikers on purpose...

...but was content just to SWERVE at the hitch-hiker till he cussed it...

...then it swerved around the drunken asshole to kill the Sheriff...

...and after taking out a bunch of cops, it elected NOT to flatten James Brolin, even though it could've!

Was it connected to Parent's (Brolin's) dead father somehow?

Was it the four wheeled equivalent of Barbara Streisand?

The world may never know! [IMG]

Couldn't be Barbara...her nose is bigger than the whole car...I always said I was gonna build a clone for my son to drive to school, but he grew up too fast. How hard could it be??Not a lot of compound curves on that body..Roll the top of the body panels over a gas bottle, run it straight down the sides.
But,hey,if you watch it that often,I think you should build it......or maybe you already are????? [IMG]

    I got dibbs...

Maybe I'm a little slow today, even though I'm on my fourth coffee and it's only 2:30pm. What does Young Guns have to do with CR? And black Lincolns with limo tint scare me.

hey the colors were there just not in view.. that black and white sticker just blended in... ya thats it.....

RF, since you want those "fag" wheels on everything, do you think you can get me a sponsorship for a free set for my ride.. 18's rear and 17 front please. I got lots of area to put the wheel companies name on the qtr glass. Fag wheels are not just for shiny cars.....

Hey Boones, I got a set of 18 and 20-inch "fag" wheels still in boxes in my garage. In fact they're even 5x4.75 bolt pattern... In fact I have the tires (also new) to go with them If you're interested, PM me.
