Event Coverage RHINEBECK, GREAT SHOW -ME NOT SO MUCH

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by ct1932ford, May 7, 2023.

  1. When your right your right. Just don't tell my wife! Against her wishes I drove my roadster an hour and a half to Dutchess County Fairgrounds in Rhinebeck N.Y.
I have a bad case of Pink-Eye,(both eyes) although on meds (drops) I am still a mess. After being cooped up all Winter, no one was going to tell me what to do. So alone, I drive my little 32, with drops in hand, and off I go at 6:30 in the morning not yet 40 degrees.:(
Yes, I was cold and uncomfortable, with my side curtains at the upholstery shop for repairs. Hey, I have a top! Bottom line the show was fantastic. I struggled along, carful not to shake hands with old friends I came upon. It was a great Swap Meet and Car Show.
Friends were going to have lunch around 12:30, but I knew when I had enough. So I drive home, not being able to see that well.
I'm on new stronger drops, as of this morning . I am missing the CSRA swap meet today, but I know when I'm beat. Oh, and then there's the wife!
Here are some photos of just a fraction of the cars there. Enjoy!

I am glad Connecticut Street Rods, CSRA got great weather today. Hope their show was a success! Even though I was not there.:p I'm going back to laying down. The wife said so!;)

Damned the pinkeye. But you had good enough vision to get some nice pics.

    Thanks!

I was there yesterday. Beautiful weather and a good turnout. I took my almost sixteen year old nephew along for his first look at a car show/swap meet.

  17. Mark, the roadster looks great with the 25 louver hood and you got some nice photos but you really should have listened to Barb, I remember us talking about the cataract surgery that didn't prove satisfactory, take care of those eyes my friend. HRP

We made it to Rhinebeck about 15 years ago in our '32 roadster. Where have the years gone?

  25. Pink eye = no fun. I had it coming back from an out of state wedding a few years ago. Used collodial silver drops to get me home and saw the doctor the next day. I was at Rhinebeck some years ago, they had a 2-day model car contest in one of the out-buildings.

ct1932ford, thanks for the photo's you got some great shots. I've been going to the swap meet and show for over 30 years, been involved in the clubs that put it on also, but this was the first time that I was able to walk around and see the show. I saw your car in the mourning around 10:30 parked next to that 53 Buick chassis swapped car (a good example of what not to do). I happen to know the guy. It was a record setting day for the show on both Saturday and Sunday.
