Coffee and cookies this morning and I had a realization.
    I'll be durned.
    Never really noticed that before.
Ok... "Coconut Bars" are the new official traditional hot rod cookie.

I'm a sucker for anything finned aluminum. And, I love coconut.
Count me in on the official Traditional Hot Rod Cookie.

You can tell it's the earlier version cuz the fins curve all the way around the ends.

I need some bucket seats. I need them now so I can look at ergonomics and especially to verify clearance between the driver's seat and the shifter. And I really need something decent to sit on while making engine noises and air-banging gears.

After looking at all the bucket seats I can find, I decided I like the old MG seats best. I like the style and they'll fit better than a lot of others.

There's a company in England that refurbishes MG seats. Check it out. This is the 1969 model. One year only for MG. My favorite. Very nice, huh? But very expensive. Especially if you want all leather. And I do.

I may call England one of these days. But the used ones I picked up today will serve my needs for now. These are the 1963-1968 model. Basically the same. They need to be recovered but the frames are very good and came with runners. New foam and covers are available. I think maybe I can redo them and make 'em look like that nice black one.
    For about $1,000 less.

    Now. Speaking of England...

The guy I bought those seats from owns this sports car. Thought you guys would enjoy seeing it. It's a 1953 Woodill Wildfire. ??? Not sure I ever even heard of one, let alone saw one. I knew it was something special soon as I laid eyes on it. But then I saw the motor. A 1953 241 Dodge Red Ram Hemi! 5spd transmission. Corvette floor. The body is fiberglass. I can't remember how many he told me they made of these, but it wasn't very many. I guess this is one of only about a dozen left known to exist. Albeit the hot rod version. That's about all I know.

    Edit:
    Correction.
I learned after posting that this car and the other ones like it were built in California.

You mean you'd drive it, Ben?
    Like Anthony always says?
I hear you. Me too. I really like hot rodded old sports cars. I wanted to drive it so bad. I almost asked him if I could sit in it. But I didn't.
Funny thing is, when I asked if he likes his bucket seats that replaced the ones I got from him, he said, "I don't know. I've only driven it around the block since I did all the upgrades." So he wants to drive it too.

The MG seats are a good fit for this project. 1960s styling. Happy to say, there's room for the Mopar Hurst shifter. And the seats can be mounted parallel to the centerline of the car. They don't have to be mounted on a dumb looking angle to fit between the doors. I hate that. It helps that the Plymouth is about 3" wider than the Model A.

    Thanks Danny.
    @HOTRODPRIMER

Yes... American made. I thought it was furin at first. But I found some information explaining they were built by a Dodge/Willy's dealer in California using Glaspar fiberglass bodies. The first complete fiberglass-bodied cars available.
Pretty cool, man. Made in America makes it even cooler.

I'm hoping the time comes when you and I will have the chance to take those seats for a spin.
I'll make sure there's enough leg room.

Thanks Dan. I'm familiar with Moss Motors. They have quality $tuff. That's who I'll probably go to for foams and covers.
