When I think of hot rod coupes on the HAMB, yours is one of the first ones that comes to mind.

Making some changes so I can give myself a good chance at getting this coupe on the road. I've decided not to make any further efforts on either the '53 Chrysler or the speedster project.

The Chrysler is just too much car. I like hardtops, but it's just too big and heavy to be a hot rod. It needs everything. Delaminated curved glass and other stuff I don't wanna deal with.

The roadster/speedster would've been cool. Different. Kinda wild and crazy. Definitely outside the box. Truthfully, it was just my way of trying to make something out of almost nothing. And I embraced that and committed myself to it and figured I'd make it the best I could.

But I like this old Plymouth coupe. It's nice to have a real car with an actual body LOL. I can build a hot rod out of this sweet little honey butter biscuit.

 

When I introduced my roadster/speedster project and showed just the 440 engine in front of the cowl,
@Hitchhiker
commented something like "you can't be serious".
And I didn't blame him LOL.
But this time, when he saw my Plymouth coupe, he said...

I respect Hitchhiker's opinion. He's one of our more prolific builders around here.
So maybe just maybe I'm headed in the right direction.

 

A lot of stuff meant for the speedster will go toward the Plymouth.

The Chrysler was too big.
The Speedster was too small.
This Plymouth is just right.

Steve, I actually wrote that as a serious thought. Then I looked at what I had written. I knew somebody was gonna say it. Just had to wait to see who. LOL

I've thought about naming my cars. Wasn't sure. Made a list. The list grew. Then at some point I started eliminating the stupid ones. When there were no names left on the list, I had a deep life changing epiphany.
A realization.

............... I don't want to.

 

Rick's Plymouth Coupe would probably be good enough.

 

Or, “the ‘31”. That’s how mine are named.
Since I won’t buy another, never will have to worry about confusing myself
