Got hooked up with a customer of my uncles this summer. He was looking for someone to run his vintage modified. He found a rough 1936 ford modified that was run in upstate new york back in the early 60's. His friend was the bodyshop instructor at the local vocational highschool and they had the kids at the school build it into a race car again. she's pretty crude around the edges and sketchy on safety here and there but I've been working on it to get it going. in fact I started last year by getting the motor running better, fixing some steering issues just hanging around my uncles shop. Well, last years driver couldn't drive this year, so I figured why not! it's a hot rod I can run on the track! was a blast even though most of the other cars are newer and WAY faster than this one.
here's a few laps from the warmups shaking her down.

these pics were from the heat race, wish I had the gopro running then. i was starting outside pole on running against that camaro. He pushed so bad I could out run him on the outside because I was holding him low. ended up dropping back so I could get out of the mix and keep the shakedown theme going.

Great video! Brings back memories.... Looks like you could almost hold it to the floor all the way around!

Almost looked like Stafford in a few places...I sure do remember the old Ford and Chevy coupes running way back. I have a big pile of old 8x10 pics of cars at Riverside, Stafford, and a couple at Waterford

not quite... i'm sure if I had some more time I could get it around faster. I also need to bulk up... this thing is a real beast to turn with 8" wide slicks on the front. no power steering or rack here!

yes it was, If you pause the video at 27 seconds he's one of the 4 guys standing against the fence! lol. my brother, my father, then Tim, then Joe Enright who owns the car. I'll let him know.

stafford is quite a bit bigger. I always liked waterford. pretty easy track to drive, smooooth. back in 2001 when I ran midgets I got my little 151 vw hooked up good against all the big inlines and almost ran away with it until I started running out of gas and ended up second. THAT car I could just about flat foot around the track.
