hi guys, putting a new ch***is under my altered and I'm trying to set the axles etc. I want a stance similar to the old school cars like the magic muffler and especially the bradfords fiat, a car I adore. Can anyone help me with the height the bottom of the ch***is should be from the floor? I can build some stands to work it all from if I know the height it should be, or roughly . Sorry if I sound a dufus but I want it to be right.

  5. Looks like the height is about 3/4" on that first one. ;)

If it's a 1:25 model, you can measure anything on it and multiply it by 25. Whatever scale it is, just use that number as the multiplier.

I was going to say just find some component on the car that you know the dimension for, and scale it from there. The rear wheel diameter is probably 15" or so, for instance. Good Luck

If you look at the line of the frame rail on the Bradford car it is almost centered on the line between the spindle and the center of the rear axle. As HRP said above the visual clues probably work as well as the tape measure.

I think the best thing to do is put your ch***is on some wood blocks step back and take a look. Start adding or subtracting thin blocks till you get the look you want. Thats what I did to get my T modified sitting the way I wanted. IMG_0125.JPG

  10. Absolute visual, done at mock up, wheels and tires a must have item.

The lower body line intersects the tires and cal axle at a give point- that's my #1 go to item to establish ride height.
