Almost 100 offerings? I see 4 offerings for Hot Rod Shocks, and 2 are out of stock and have been for months (the shorter ones that replace most hot rod front shocks). Where are you seeing these almost 100?

Most suppliers of these Hot Rod Shocks also list the available model that they have as low or out of stock. Again, I'm talking about the Hot Rod Shocks offerings, I never suggested Ridetech was going out of business. This is a low volume part, and the price is high. It wouldn't be surprising if it disappeared, and the fact that they're in low supply doesn't bode well for that.

Your right. They might be discontinuing the short shock. I found my 2 pairs of uncovered short shocks at 2 different dealers and the long covered rear shocks I ordered at Speedway and they were drop shipped from Ride Tech. I have the long uncovered shocks on my deuce tudor which I also ordered thru Speedway.

New run of the Ride Tech shorty hot rod shocks are at the polishers and should start shipping in about 10 days?

  4. Old fashioned 50/50 tube shocks are all that are needed, look right and work fine, the rest are hundreds of dollars and ride way too hard, this kind are the ticket

I bought Ride Tech shocks for the front of my roadster because I was very happy with the rear Ride Tech coil-overs, once I got the spring rate right. Anyway, I found them to be VERY STIFF in rebound, so much so that I called the Ride Tech support guy and asked him what's up? He said they found most street rods to be OVER SPRUNG in the front so they compensated for this. My front springs are quite dialed in on my roadster and the R-T's would "pack-down" after several bumps and give a harsh ride. Talked to Pete Eastwood and he uses Pete & Jakes so I gave them a try and am VERY happy with the ride. Their fronts are unshrouded and the rears are shrouded but the dampening in both are the same. They are not gas charged and quite reasonably priced.
    Just my .02$

I sold many 100's of P&J shocks thru my years in the chassis business with no problems. I have always been open to trying new things and that's why I did the Ride Tech change on my deuce pickup. I'm happy with them so far. Are they for everyone, no the cost is a big factor and if your happy with what you have stay with them. 99% of my business was straight axle fronts and about 50-50 buggy spring vs coil over rears. Always tried to provide the best product with no corner cutting.
