Well the snow has disappeared, hopefully to stay and time to start looking for parts again. Trying to replace the hoops on a pair of 53 Ford rims with a hoop about 7" wide. The hoops have a ID of 12 11/16" where they join the centre. Any ideas on the make and year of some rims that would make suitable donors? Ideas are appreciated. Thanks
" wheel shells" is the term....12 5/8 is standard ...do a search if you want new...i got some 5" from early wheel...good stuff, good price...lots and lots of 15" wheels are 12 5/8 ID...get a tape and have a look...

Before Y'All start the bashing & such.... This is a sugestion and it work GREAT for me... I had '50 Merc wheels done by Stockton Wheels in Northern California. I Dis~***embled the Stock wheels myself, Sent the parts to them. They REVERESED the wheel, Trued & Welded them back, Cut the BACK side off & welded on a new 1/2 to make them 7 1/2 inches wide. Took them about a month to do them but they were EXACATALLY waht i told them for about $150.00 a wheel & NO ONE else would touch them, I called EVERYONE. They also did my front to 4"... VERY NICE STUFF !
