Bummer. Talked at length with him at Grand National Show in the 90's. Love this pic in the shop with filler dust on his glasses.
A great guy doing what he loved to do right to the end. R.I.P. Bill, you will be missed...............
Thats a shame. My metal mentor and I were just talking about him on Wednesday. Then again, we seem to end up talking about Bill Hines every time we get together, and for Mark to talk about another metal man with reverence is really saying something. I'll never forget watching Mr. Hines lead the nose of that chevy on that Monster Garage episode. ABSOLUTE MASTERY of his craft. That was the only episode of that show I wish I could see again.
Never had the fortune to meet Bill Hines. Only in pictures. And may I say, Thanks for all your art... RIP
Legend. He was the Keith Richards of the car world, lead and cigars everyday and still made it to 94 RIP Mr.Hines
Rest in Peace Mr. Hines. Him and his work will live on forever. Sent from my SM-G920V using H.A.M.B. mobile app
Few people reach Icon status in any field, Roth, Dutch, Barris (both of them)are the influences that invariably come up when critiquing later builders. Bill ranks right up there with any of them. R.I.P. Mr. Hines
Not sure where to put this but Bill Hines has passed away at 94. He died in his sleep this morning around 2 am. He will be sorely missed. I wish I got the chance to meet him.
