Sorry to hear that. As a kid he was one of my heroes.

This is happening much to often lately, another true legend of drag racing gone. I saw Bobby and Ruth at Ed Mabrys funeral several months back and was looking forward to seeing him in Dec. at our annual Ol' Drag Geezers Reunion. I took this picture of Bobby & Ruth at the TTA race in 2009.

Rest in peace Bobby.

This is very sad news, Bobby was a great all round guy. Long will live the racing legend. Rest In Peace.

Very bad news and prayers go out to Ruth and relatives. Bobby was a regular at the Gulf Freeway strip in Houston in the 60's and I booked him at all out big events. A first class guy and he will be missed by all who knew him.

 

What a shock for me...Just got off the phone with Don Ross..seems like this was a result of his heart surgery two days ago and complications set in...We will be posting funeral details here for every one that wants to Attend..

 

Thoughts and prayers going out to family and friends.

Had a chance to meet he and Ruth several times at NHRR cacklefests. Great folks. Praying for Ruth and rest of his family and friends at this time.

 

Bobbys funeral will be held at Laurel Land Funeral home 7100 Crowley Rd. Ft Worth TX. 76134.
This is all I have at this time, no date or time.

 

My local hero is gone, may he rest in peace. Our Prayers are with Ruth and family.
