A very sad day indeed. Always larger than life and a true legend in his own lifetime, I am proud to have met him several times. Condolences to Cleo and his family....
Cobra...Daytona Coupe...GT 350...GT 500....GT-40...Kicking Enzo's ass..... Any one of those would have made him a legend!!! And he did it all with bum ticker(s)! He will be missed
My heart is broken. Godspeed my friend. Please say hello to Mr. Sox and Mr. Landy among many others. RIP.
Call me not a true hot rodder, call me what you will but since I was about 15 the Cobra Daytona Coupe has been my all time No1 favorite car, it will always be that too. I dunno why but they just have an aura about them that drags me in! Lost count of the number of 1/10 NitroRc cars I have had that were Daytona Coupes! I think I would even be happy with a Replica Daytona too! I somehow doubt that I will ever have a spare mill and a half...........$$ for a real one!! Doc.
Carroll Shelby has touched my family in many ways Have owned one of his best [Avatar] and our 1st grand daughter's neme is Shelby Rest In Peace Carroll
Very sad news indeed. A true legend has passed. Mr. Shelby raised millions of dollars for children in need of transplants and made a huge impact on the lives of many. I am proud to say that my younger daughter is named Shelby in his honor. R.I.P. Mr. Carroll Shelby!
Ah man, that is really sad. Just saw an interview with him on Barrett Jackson. I guess he had a heart transplant years ago, so it looks like he got some extra time on earth. RIP. Don
A truly great man. Our lives are richer due to this man, a legend the world over. May you rest in the tyre smoke from gods Cobra.
I think he touched every one of us in some way. Anyone watch Honey West? She had a Cobra and I think it was a 3-way tie of appeal between her, the car and her pet ocelot (Bruce). I had read one of his books as a kid, bought the model car kits of any cobra, including the IMC GT40 (a great kit). I still buy his Texas Chili kits.. have one on the shelf now. I followed him in his sickness, heart transplant & all. I'm glad he had the means to be able to stick around as long as he did. Bob
Carroll drove this roadster to our shop in Dallas on many occasions..He and the owner of Custom Automotive were the best of friends,,Carrolls own shop out at Yale and Greenville ave..Painted our 40 Ford coupe that was our shop vehicle,,painters name was Foy Barrett..I remember all this as it was yesterday,,,We have indeed lost a true Texan and fellow racer.God rest his soul
Carroll Shelby has been my hero ever since I was a kid. I love his cars and skin my knuckles on them regularly .When I drive a shelby american automobile I smile like a kid and remember clearly why I work on cars for a living Carroll led a good life and was an inspiration to us all ! GODS SPEED
He fostered so many changes to the world we all live in.......I'm so glad he was here for that. During my 58 years of life there have only been a few men who's hand I would loved to have shaken,.....his was one.
