RIP Donna Mae Mims

Donna Mae Mims has died. For those of you who don't know of her she started racing in 1958 and participated in the original Canonball Run as well as some LeMans races from my recollection. She was my neighbor for a while and a "unique lady". Well anyways, the next beer you have should be for her. Rest in piece.

There's some great anecdotes about her & her Cannonball Run team in Brock Yates' book about the event...also some nice pictures, Linda Vaughn style. RIP.

 

RIP, I remember reading about and her team in the original stories about the first run in the magazine.
