Folks Of Interest RIP Hamtown Al

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by Bangingoldtin, Oct 2, 2023.

  1. Found out today that Hamtown Al left us on Sept. 15th. I talked to him on 29 August, and he was holding his own. Besides his family, Al loved his cars, ice cream, and his dog Ringer. RIP my friend.

Oh, that is soooo sad to hear. Always liked his threads, input, stories and his love for ice cream. RIP sir. Ice cream in heaven has no calories I hear. Eat it up.

  5. I will miss Al. Always fun to chat with.

AND, as promised, he bought me ice cream when I visited Smithfield.

I met Al’s son earlier this year ( he was repairing my well pump) and he saw the Model A while doing it. Well, of course he asked if I knew his Dad and I said, “who is that?” Finally, the light came on and I said , “Yes, Hamtown Al!” We talked about his Dad as he worked and he was telling me about taking him to his treatments. As he left, I told him , “ Say hi to your Dad and I wish him the Best!” I spoke with Al one time, quite a Character. Farewell, Al

Funny how things work, just last night I had checked his last visit here and was concerned when it was Sept. 14th.
Godspeed Al, you will be missed here.

  15. Oh no! That’s a punch in the gut.
Talked to him several times about 40 pickups, and he was always the polite, cordial Southern gentleman.
I’ve lusted after his 32 Cabriolet since he brought it home .
Rest in Peace, Sir. May God comfort your loved ones with their loss.
