I just got a letter from John Nolan the owner of Homtown Hotrod magazine stated that it was no longer in print. But as just a sign of Jonh's class and values he is issuing refunds through the Magazines bank account. I am going to miss the magazine, it was one of the best car magazines out there today.

John and Suanne's letter is heartfelt and sincere. I certainly can't fault their decision, although I will dearly miss HHR. As for myself, I consider the issues I received so far square payment for a run of great magazines and am sending his check back. [/FONT]

I never cared for the mag but still a loss for alot

  9. If this is true, then why don't they have an update on their website about it?
    So what is the reason?

  10. Was wondering what was going on. I have been going to the Boarders religiously doing a run through the rod mags looking for it. Man, that is a big old bummer.

  11. Too Bad. I will miss it. I support any magazine that supports us. Best Wishes to John

  12. I just got my letter and check also, I was thinking of posting but didn't want to spread bad news, Glad someone else beat me to it.
Johns Magazine was always a pleasure to recieve, written and assembled by a genuine stand up guy. It was good to meet john at the shows, and to see him put "Unkle Charlie" (his 55' buick) under the customizers knife. (Not that I like seeing cars getting cut up all that often) He had 56' packard tailights installed last year at the road rocket rumble in indy for all to see. I was wondering why he was absent this year. One thing I enjoyed about hometown hotrod magazine was johns editorials, which were always impressive to read. His good edjumikation always shone through in his easy to read writing and made you feel as if you were actually having a conversation with one hell of an high quality individual, even if you were only reading type print off of a magazine page.
I will miss this magazine and will gladly not be cashing my check for the benifit of John and his family.
John, If you are reading this, Thank you for the great feat that you acomplished!!!
    Take care and God Bless.....-Al.

Sad news indeed, I haven't recieved a letter so don't know the reason but it doesn't matter. The mag was classy and well done. Maybe that was why it didn't go over. Not enough "image". John best of luck to you and yours in any future endevores.

I am beyond sorry to hear the news about John and the mag.
I subscribed to it last summer to support the dream, I enjoyed reading every word in each issue. I may have read it in a very different light, enjoying it twice as much as the average reader, knowing what it takes to publish. It is a labor of love.
John your father was right - you were born to do this! And someday when things level back out in your families life .. I hope to see you bring the mag' back out - it was a great mag!!
If you are reading this post ... KUDDO's to you and your wife on an excellent run of it .. your dad would be proud in all that you do. If there is anyway, SRM can help (in anyway), please give me a shout! Family is MOST important over anything, God Bless.

You did a great job on the magizine, I will miss it and hold on to the ones that I have. It was always a pleasure to talk to you at the car shows.

John, all the best to you and the family, thanks.

Damn that sucks! I met John last year at a show in Pennsylvania and was quick to lend a hand or give any advice I've learned over the last few years. I always love hearing about the little independents making a go of things. sad news.

What a bummer, just heard not too long ago that Hop up is all done and now this. All we're going to be left with is the rat rod fluff of ck deluxe and old skool rodz. I wish John the best!

I'm bummed too. Sounds like health issues for Delaney from what I'm reading here? Is there something we can do? I'll buy a subscription to a Delaney update if that would help. Let us know...
