Jeff was the best ever. She IS Australian. I think she quit school at like 14 or 15 to become a pro, used to travel with the Allman Brothers too.

    From Tal Wilkenfeld:

"Jeff Beck’s light and power were so strong I was convinced we’d be goofing around and making music until the day I leave this planet.
He was forever youthful, fueled so deeply by the muse that basic necessities were last on his list. “Are you hungry, Jeff?” “Oh no, I had a huge muffin yesterday!”
We lost our favorite guitarist, and we also lost one of the most intelligent, intuitive, hilarious people I’ve ever met.
Jeff, thank you for believing in me before anyone else did. You stood behind me and told everyone to take me seriously. You treated me like a daughter to the point where Wikipedia actually thought that was true.
    Actually, I did too.

I met Jeff Beck at Roy Brizio's shop one day in the 70s. Did NOT recognize him, we were talking about X members in '32 frames (I said I still liked stock K members,) Roy laughed and said this guy and I should play some blues... I asked, "Oh, you play blues?"
They laughed uproariously, and I found out I could have been bending my harp with Jeff Beck...
Godspeed, Jeff. Never saw you enough.

Mistakenly started another thread yesterday when I read the sad news about him leaving the planet. Correctly it was deleted and I just wanted to add my sadness to this important thread.

  11. Saddest news of the week. Rest in Peace Jeff. Deepest condolences to the family and all whom he inspired.

I threw this down quick last night, in tribute, for the Friday Art Show...

This is outstanding, gotta share. Thanks to the mods for being lenient on the OT stuff and allowing us to memorialize a little here. Hoping this one helps heal the hurt:

A really cool vid about Jeff's cars. Mentions Pat Ganahl too! Pat had friends in high places!

That was a real gift nobby, wasn't making the connection, at first I thought you had posted this video on the wrong thread.
I've actually seen this before but forgot about it, didn't realize what I was watching until he says he's got to deliver the Muncie parts to a guy with a bunch of cool hot rods.

yes, I had no idea the hub synchronisers on a 4 speed muncie and the sliders changed through the years from 1'' to 1 1/8, also I bet it was fuel pressure on the 59 vette.

Jeff Beck, truly was the " genuine article"
There is no doubt about that!
I graduated high school in 71, 72 was the year of the release of the album " JEFF BECK GROUP "
    The now famous "ORANGE" album.
It was the first time I ever heard Jeff Becks version of the totally kick ass, " GOIN DOWN " !
    OMG!!!
Max Middleton on keyboards, and Bob Tench killer screaming vocals and Jeff Beck on guitar!
If there ever was a tune that truly makes you want to drive fast and take chances, " Becks, GOIN DOWN " is truly it!
I encourage you all, to put that tune on and go burn some rubber as a way to say thanks to the talent of Jeff Beck!

I got out my old rod run photo albums to look up Merced '82. My buddy reminded me that's where we bumped into Jeff. Buddy was less bashful than I & spent some time talking to him. But alas I didn't take any pictures of him. Thats also where Don Thelan debuted ZZ Top's Eliminator Coupe. Didn't take a picture of that either. I'm left with only my memories, if somebody reminds me.

After a little Googleing I realized I saw Jeff Beck with the Yardbirds on Christmas Day, 1965 at a teen club in my western NY hometown.

I was fortunate to see Jeff Beck perform at the Moore Theater, back in 10/28/2011, here in Seattle.
It was a great performance. Rhonda Smith was on Bass guitar, she was great as well!

  26. Sir,

I am jealous of very few people in this world, but I am jealous of you for being able to see this concert! LOL

I was born in 62 so I was not quite old enough to see a lot of the performers that I really wanted to! Jeff Beck and Gary Moore are two of my all-time favorites that I did not get to see and to this day it's saddens me that they left before I could see them!

    God bless
    Bill

    a couple memories to share:
when he was with the yardbirds, the group lip-synched one of their hits on "the lloyd thaxton show," and when the host tried to interview him, jeff just scowled.
another was in the film, "blow-up," which took place during the "mod" era in london. there's a scene featuring the yardbirds, and both beck and jimmy page were in it!
