"You can't put a price tag on a good time!" That was on the rear of Pat Austin's Alcohol Funny Car and became my mantra and tag line a long time ago. RIP, Walt!
sincere condolences to friends and family. Walt stopped by my shop a few years ago looking for a J2 engine to recreate a hot rod he and his father had when he was younger. we had a tentative deal to trade one of my J2s for one of his Hemis but he must have found another. Walt seemed a very down to earth guy, easy to talk to and no pretences. I'm sure he will be missed.
I am sorry to read this. I went to a large number of Division 6 races when he was active with Pat and Mike. He was a innovator and even designed and produced a better motor for fuel racing. NHRA didn't allow it. It has found new live in the nostalgia series with grandson Drew. RIP Walt
Resurrected the Boss 429 engine. Yes Drew in funny car and Garrett Richards in outlaw pro-mod have had success with the new engine. RIP Walt Austin.
