folks don't respect cars displayed anymore. i almost had knobs removed from my doors & dash. luckily i saw the group of losers that surrounded the car to try and keep anyone from seeing what they were doing.

  3. A cr=ar show is like a big parking lot. If you don't leave it in there at wally world you don't leave it in there at a car show either. They just seem to attract low rent people.

Now I am sorry to got ripped off. At least all it was is an I pod.

  4. Why is this "Folks of Interest"?

Why would you leave something that is that popular, easy to take and worth money anywhere?

Keep in mind that not just car people go to car shows, the general public as well as kids/teenagers attend them as well.

Sorry you lost something of value but chalk this one up to lesson learned.

  5. Another reason to only go to shows where the SPECTATORS have to pay an admission fee. Thins the losers out of the herd.

Came back to my car at a local "cruise night" to find some broad with her kid standing on the seat yanking on the steering wheel and shift lever. You can't fix stupid.

Yeah, they're everywhere alright! I've had to yell at an older guy to get off of my car (cuz it looks like a couch, right?) as he and his buddies were checking out my cousins 56! He was well over the age to know better!!

We have a local show held downtown on the streets that I really don't care to go to anymore. It attracts people who normally wouldn't go to a car show and I have seen families walking through where the Mother watched her kids pull a stuffed tiger off the boot of a GTO convertible, skateboarders and bike riders zooming near the cars, and people generally not respecting cars by touching them, leaning on them, etc.

At least the people who are standing around my car when I park it at some business parking lot while I shop are standing a good distance away and just taking pictures when I come out. They have more respect than some spectators at shows.

You're right! you can't fix stupid. But its a sign of the times, because in the 50's you could have given them "what for?" and they would have been sore all the way home.

Sorry to hear about your Ipod. That would not sit well with me either. Plus you mention that it was under your seat ?

  16. The guy who took your stuff is probably homeless and hungry. He thinks you have so much more than him with your fancy car and all that you'll never miss your little gizmo.

What would piss me off more than anything, them getting it under the seat. That's kinda ballsy.

If your iPod was registered to you, apple can tell you where it is. The first time it is plugged back into a computer they know exactly where it is. Give them a call it works. Sorry to hear about the incident.

I hardly open the hood on my Comet anymore while at the cruises. I had somebody steal the gl*** washer fluid bottle out of it one night. A real nice one with the Rotunda logo on the cap. Wonder if it ended up on ebay or in the thief's car?

  21. Can you call an I pod ?

I though my DD got stolen from a shopping mall once. You see, I always parked by sears, but not that day ha,ha .

  22. In the '50s guys had to put their Olds Fiesta hubcaps in the trunk at the drive-in so people wouldn't steal them while the guys were in their car (presumably distracted by their girls) -

yeah it bothers me that this happens so i remove any valuables before they fall out the floor holes?..."rust holes" lol just jkn sorry to hear about your loss.

something else bothers me a buddy of mine does at shows so i dont want be seen with him...he leans in to the inside to get a closer look or touches a car to point out a good option or just to explain something but it kinda is embarr***ing i dont care for that cause i've always been told "if it aint yours dont touch it" ?

my wife had just bought a new digital camera and she brought it to the Santa Maria show in Ca. she had the camera with her as we walked around the fairgrounds but she hid the package for the camera UNDER the front seat of our CLOSED car. someone opened our car, looked around and swiped the box thinking the camera was inside. they got the packaging, manual, and extra battery.
some people lack common decency and self respect.

Lots of people that go to carshows arent car people in the same sense that we are. Roll up the windows, lock the doors if you worry about people stealing your stuff. Shouldnt have to I know, but it is what it is...sorry.

I know alarms aren't traditional, but nobody should be entering your vehicle, sept you.

I used to try to support the local shows where they don't charge spectators, but lately decided that my car doesn't deserve the abuse that it gets at those shows. This summer I had someone tell me that some guy let his dog jump on my truck. Sure enough, scratches on the front fender. Went to a show the next weekend, and came home with sweaty handprints all over it. I don't like to stand guard over my cars. I like to enjoy the show too. And they charge me to bring my car.
