so i am replacing a door hinge on my 46 ford pick up. its riveted on the door side. i know how to get them out. but actually replacing them is a different story. what is a goo replacement method for this. do they even sell a rivet that style any more? or a tool to actually put them in. or just use a new style aluminum rivet. (just scared it wont hold up)

    anything or ideas will help!

I make a plate with 5/16 threaded holes in it and slip it in to the door. Either up from the bottom or through a slot cut into the frame. Clean up the counter sinks on the hinge and use flat or oval headed screws.
