Going to be leaving out of Ft. Worth tomorrow morning in route to The National Hot Rod Reunion in Bowling Green. Does anybody know of anything along the way that's worth checking out (car related or not)?

I'll be headed through Texarkana, Little Rock, Memphis, and Nashville... Any of you Arkansas, Tennessee, or Kentucky guys know of anything, or should I just set my cruise control (commonly referred to as my right foot [IMG] ) on 90 and not look back?

  5. In Memphis hit Graceland - The world's longest running funeral. Then go to the Rendezvous for ribs. It is across the street from the Peabody hotel down an alley and in the basement. Worth the trip alone. After dinner stop by the Platinum Plus strip club on Mt. Moriah Rd. but keep your hands to yourself - trust me on this one.

After that get to BG as fast as possible.

    Have a safe trip.

  6. Hit Beale St. also while your in Memphis just down the street from the Peabody Hotel, have a burger fried in what they claim is 90 year old grease, Dyers, I thought they we pretty damn good. Also Gibson Guitars is right next to Beale St.

  8. For BBQ in Memphis, try The Rendevouz (ribs only), downtown across from the Peabody Hotel (which has a beautifully restored art-deco lobby) or Corky's. Graceland is pretty much a high priced tourist trap, but if you're an Elvis fan, go ahead. Take exit 5 off I-55. Unfortunately, the Memhis Belle B-17 is under restoration and unavailable.

Be prepared for construction on I-40 West of Memphis. Had a 15 mile backup last week. Also at I-40/240 interchange with delays if you take 240 on the North side. You might be better off taking 55 South, connect to 240 South to get to 40. Also construction on 40 going into N'ville, and 65 North of N'ville. It ain't gonna be fun. [IMG] Good luck.
