The crown vic in the pasture is the car the owner ould not afford to restore when he was young, after he healed up financially he and his wife decided to just buy the other one already done.

Ended up in Carthage Missouri tonight, had a great drive on Historic Rt 66 through country side and small towns. Crossed some old bridges and visited he ever present roadside attractions, most were closed. Saw a few people driving their old cars to church.

Cool pics. I'm digging that riding mower - what a great idea ! Might have to try that, lol !
That route 66 emblem on the road was painted by "Roamin' Rich" Dinkela , who's logged a ton of miles on the route shooting videos and stuff. He's painted quite a few of them , with proper permission of course. He's a good dude. Gary Turner, the owner of that Sinclair p***ed away in March (I believe it was) . He was a good friend of Rich's.

Keep those cool pics coming !

After breakfast we back tracked to Red Oak II (Foxfire Farms) where we were greeted at the road by the welcome committee, after a few minutes of ear scratching an hand sniffing they went about their daily routine.

Then we had the good fortune to meet Lowell Davis, the man that built the place . He was a soft spoken man with a sharp Witt and a toung in cheek sense of humor. We visited for almost an hour before others started showing up and Mr. Davis and his wife Rose had to go.

DSCF3119.JPG DSCF3120.JPG Went and toured a fancy old movie theater in Miami this mourning, again not my cup of tea but it was impressive.
Then headed to Afton Ok. Along the way found a stretch of the sidewalk road and drove along it for a while, very rough.

That's it, barely made 150 miles today but I'll give it hell tomorrow.
A side note, the wife's OT D/D really likes this E85, it will do front wheel burn outs on the stuff at intersections

If you go through Shamrock, TX, eat at Big Vern's. Great steaks and best cornbread ever. Plus Shamrock has the garage that was Ramone's garage in Cars.
