My road trips have been little jaunts from Tucson to SoCal lately. Nothing memorable, until we get there. Then it's Disneyland, etc....!

My longest road trip was 27 hours in a 15 passenger van, hauling gang kids from the Missouri bootheel to Washington D.C. It was actually fun. We all learned about each other's music.

Road trips are the only form of vacation that my wife and I have taken in the past 20 years. I never wrote about them, because nobody else does, therefore I assumed nobody is interested...
The current project(s), a longroof and vintage trailer, are being built specifically for long road trips. I can't wait! We plan on leasing our house out for the summer, and working from the road.

At 60mph, your eyes can scan 180 degree view.
You'd be amazed by number of interesting things to see
when you lose your tunnell vision...focused between the lines.
    More quiet ride...less engine/wind noise.
    Better mileage.

500 mile trip at 60mph takes only an hour longer than at 70mph.
Speeding simply doesn't get you there that much sooner.
Which is why I normally drive 60 mph when traveling.
But then...Oregon is a land of scenic beauty everywhere.
