There's no one with a keener eye than you! :) Man , how cool was it when Happy Days and The Muppets were prime time TV? How I'd love to be the guy whose car broke down in Mayberry on Sunday.

I really wish I could have gotten better quality pictures, but I was taking a cell phone picture of a framed photograph on the wall. Check out these fenderless roadster pickups, all lined up for a local Wisconsin construction company photograph.

As long as there are none of the kerosine pickles she made.

Those pickups are cool. I wonder what the deal was with fenders?

    ^^^Awesome!!!
Is there any chance of getting a pic of how you did the diff? Specifically the wishbones. I have a 38 Ford Banjo rear that I'll convert to open drive so I'll have to split the wishbones and I don't quite know how to do it. I know I need some more support to keep the diff from twisting.

    I really like your truck!

Hi Bobby and thanks. All I did was use a second set of rear rods an mount them upside down on the top backing plate bolts. I made an adjustable clevis for the front for fine tuning the pinion angle. JW

The web in the middle is in two parts and bolted together so it can move when needed for adjusting. JW

If you look closely at the plate on the RPU, this is Jim's Closed Cab Cracker box that was once yellow/black, He wanted a RPU,so he got a cab, did the ol switch a roo and wah-la just like the fairy Roth-father on the cover of "Choppers Magazine" Poof!! he now had a RPU. Bud Bryan said that was about the time he met him. If I'm not mistaken, he might still have the cab, the chassis was sold to a friend and he rebuilt his high school closed cab in about 1978 in a beautiful shade of gold @ Buffalo Mtr Cars-Don Thelen's Place.
10 yrs later I did the same thing with my 30 RPU to a 50's chopped 30 closed cab. Jake's was an inspiration down to the Americans which years later I put on because that truck looked so cool with em as did mine. My cousin owns it and it still wears the Americans.
Ken Kennedy had the 29 last I knew, Hope that he still does, I bought both a 28-29 closed cab and acquired the pieces to a RPU of the same year about the same time I got the closed cabs, I bet you know what I'm building some day!!!!!

Thanks for the pics. I really appreciate it.
I just drug home another 38 Ford wide five differential today with a good set of wishbones. My pile of parts is getting bigger and hopefully I can start laying out a chassis soon

    Thank for your help

Pretty sure that's a semi-local to me ride from before my time. I've seen various other shots of it in other Alberta rodding history pics. Lethbridge based I think. I'd sure like to know if it's still around.

This is from a 2008 HAMB entry, thought it needed some fresh recognition, and i thought that maybe@falcongeorge might like to see it again. This RPU was a fixture here in the NW for many years, not sure where it is now because owner Bub Johnson passed some years back.

IIRC, I saw it on the Bay site some time ago.
