I like both of the last two, but I've liked the red one before.

It's one of those rare hard top RPU's!!

 

I went to the RPM Nationals at Santa Margarita recently, and I was surprised to see so many roadster pickups. Here're some of 'em I saw there.

Posted it before but I think im actually going to try and paint it this winter... put the truck to use today after removing the rear shocks to smooth up the ride..

This was my Dad's, my nephew owns it now. Has been in our family for 57 years.

 

I posted this photo and it was deleted cos it is "a street rod" I was told.
Back in August 5, 2014 the same photo appeared and not deleted

What are hood shelves, Dean? I've never heard the term before.

 

They are little panels that lay on top of the fencers where the hood latches go to fill in the gas at the bottom of the hood side panels, hind of like a finish panel

 

Hood shelves Tony. The panels that run along the bottom of the hood and the sides of the radiator shell. Ford stopped them in the middle of the frame horn radius. I extend mine to wrap all the way around the frame horn. Makes a Model A front end look more finished, IMO.

They are little pieces of tin that guys put on top of the front fenders below the hood when they are doing a restoration. Some guys when building a hot rod, choose to put them in the trash can. Top end street rod builders would probably extend the hood sides down to fill the gap after they threw the hood shelves in the trash can.

 

I got rid of mine. I modified the splash apron to fender transition to make it flat.

Here’s my two. The stocker I’ve had for 38 years, the hotrod is my latest build.

1919 Willys-Overland touring front half
Model T pickup bed grafted on the back
1921 Dodge Brothers frame
Couple of windshield and stanchion combos to chop up and fit to cowl
303 Olds engine (Fenton tri-power intake w/3 Stromberg 97s)
Banjo rear
And enough small parts to get started most of the way there.
