I wonder if the bed on that black 32 is scratch built to started as something else? Maybe a refrigerator or some sort of cabinet?

My guess is scratch built but didn't want it to be a square box. Interesting, I never would have thought refrigerator or anything other than a one-off scratch build.

  8. Most of of these truck have a shortened bed, and they need to be shortened, that being said, this bed looks to be stock length, and looks great. I think it's the top that makes it look right.

That is why this place is fun. I was thinking the top was the only thing I didn't like. :)

  10. I really like the shape of the top, the slope of the back looks really good, the side openings have a really good shape. I don't like the big buttons holding it to the cab. It's not hard to hide the fasteners. Yes, this is a fun place.

Most of the production roadster tops from the 20s and 30s feature an upside-down V-shape with the corner being up and back. I had one not like that, but more like the curved customs that are featured here. There's a reason they're produced like that. I found that out when I was going 70 MPH into a 70 MPH wind and didn't even see the fabric (and part of the framework) go away.

    Great for cruisin', tho.)

  17. Marty, does the roll bar actually need to be that high? Do you sit that high in the cab?

Dean, the rules require 3” above the helmet and today’s helmets are thicker than the old days. I don’t like it, but I want to race it.

That one appears to be a Brookeville version based on a passenger car cowl and doors
