Finnaly got time to work on my T.*****oning some last things up before i take it apart for paint. I started mounting and making the frame for the 1934 ford bed. Need some advise, does the bed look akward on the car. Is it because it is wider than the body? just too long? I already did alot of chopping on it but it just dosent look right to me.
IMO does look a bit funky from the front....with as lil sheet metal you have left on the bed you could almost make a more fitting bed from scratch or just chop and narrow that one
narrow the frame and cut the ends off the crossmember. The ends of the cross member serve no purpose to the spring.
Yes. Lose the bed and fab one up from scratch to fit the proportions of the cab. Maybe a Model A bed would work.
i already shortened it almost 2 feet, narrowed it 3 inches, and sectioned it 2. i think it needs to be narrowed more??
If you make the back rails parallel to the bed sides and narrow the bed to match it would be spot on.
Did you narrow the back of the body? It looks like it has a weld line down the middle of it. You could add to the body to make it a little wider, you know for the girls with the big hips. Also, drop the grill shell another inch at least.
I'd narrow the bed to match the width of the body, and also bring it up so the bottom of the bed lines up with the bottom like of the body. my 2 cents...
Yeah I think you might have to narrow the rear of your frame to pinch the bed some more or try pinching just the front of the bed.
