Not to get OT but the above has very limited coverage. ArrowTrack uses cell phone/GPS technology and works everywhere. Either way, something good needs to happen with this situation as it is becoming too common.

  13. LOJACK has a special going on for the classic unit. $295 installed until March 31, 2011. Ted Saraf the regional rep gave our club the following info. Call 800-838-1177 x3873 and use code CCSEM295

I get an email every time someone replies to this thread. Just like most of you I keep hoping it's been found unscathed and with a full tank of gas. What!? You know how expensive that shit it!

I try to stay at the Sheraton when I go to the LA Roadster event. :)
This past year (2010 ) ... my 32 roadster sat next to Deuce Daddy Don's 32 roadster ... for a couple nights.

All this stealing makes me concerned for the safety of my 32 roadster.

Hope you get your roadster back ... and really HOPE you had it insured.

Next Year, maybe contact Wakenhut's Armed division and ask what it would cost for 3 nights of Guard Duty. Then divide the cost between 30 or so cars, Can't be more than like 15-20 bucks a night per car for 2 of their officers, Or better yet, contact the local police and hire their of duty officers, Here in south Florida it's $40/hour/Officer on the weekends, So if it were the same out there. 10pm-8am, x 2 officers =$800 per night Divided in 30 drivers = $26-$27 per night. Get 40 drivers involved it's $20/night per driver... CHEAP INSURANCE, and If there are two officers there, you know their buddies will stop by for their own private car show, a thief would be stupid to even walk by there.
If anyone wants to get this rolling for next year at ANY parking lot, I'm in.!

I think this sucks that we have to think like this, but it makes sense. Most of us have one of a kind cars and the thief is just going to strip 'em down and sell the parts. $25.00 a night for piece of mind..hell that's cheap.

  21. We all need to keep our eyes open on the next swap meet where ever they maybe. Just looking at the pictures of the car on the first post even if we could get more pictures of the car in detail or other parts of the car so we have an idea what to look for.

    Thanks
    Frenchy

I check in here two or three times a day hoping for some good news. I am guessing the car has totally gone undercover and the geeks are not doing a quick move on selling anything. If anything positive comes from this terrible loss, I hope it is increased awareness for all of us at future events. The talk about renting security, tracking devices, and overall increased security are the only plus here so far. My friends did the Wichita, Ks. swapmeet last weekend and had the radar out for anything there. We will alll stay alert to this situation and are staying positive for recovery. Have any rewards been offered anywhere for info? Sometimes thieves honor slips when $ are involved. ~sololobo~

That's a good idea, offering a reward makes everyone a little more enthusiastic from my experience...even the crooks might be interested...you never know.

Soooo sorry to read about your loss man , that's the one thing thing that scares me about building a decent ride , is putting all that blood sweat and tears into building your dream and some low life scum ripping it off to have it chopped up and sold for parts . In the old west they hung horse thieves , should be the same for a persons hot rod or custom . Hope you get it back in one piece .

Just like everyone else, I'm getting tired of reading these threads...

I had my car stolen, it was my life.. I guess you could say I got "lucky"... i got it back, beat to hell.. but I was just happy to have it back, and she'll get rebuilt. The thieves abandoned my car, and were never caught thanks to the podunk sheriffs dpt. not caring...

I really hope your car comes back in one piece, and that the thieves get caught...

I know what it's like to walk into an empty garage... it doesn't seem to wear off.

good luck, and keep your head up!

also, just something to try.. I posted fliers all over Omaha when my car was stolen.. if it was a local deal it helps... maybe fax some fliers out to businesses in the area and see if they'll post them? the fliers were pretty much how I got my car back.
