looks great man. I foresee the same procedure on mine sometime down the line thanks to the fire damage.
I love highboy trucks too, but if I had the cash my truck would of had fenders! Maybe on the next build.
I have been very busy working in the shop so as promised here's the latest on progress on my truck, I finally got around to installing the rain gutters. I decided to do something a little different, I welded on the outside of the rail and took a lot of time carefully grinding it smooth this eliminates any need for seam sealer when I go to paint the truck.
Next I built a set of custom mounted taillights, I got the inspiration from the federal coupe that Pinkees rod shop built, Mark Warrick (the guy who painted the car) lives here in Amarillo so I was lucky enough to go see the car in person at marks shop. As soon as I saw the taillights I knew I wanted to build something similar for my truck.
Next I built a simple little nerf bar out of 3/4 stainless round stock. cut and welded some pre bends in then metal finished everything smooth. then did the final welding,I really love welding stainless.
That's all for now! Here's a teaser of what next for my truck, a set of kustom door handles! Thanks for looking.
Very nice work on the rear. I had planned on the same treatment with the 37 tail lights for my 31. They came out real nice just like the remainder of the truck.
Rob, You are doing a great job. I think I might steel the stake pocket idea. I was thinking about extending mine but like your idea better. Reno..
This is just a simple mock up of where I was thinking about mounting the license plate. I'm still torn any suggestion or pictures would be appreciated.
