Briggs, Meth addicts are about like crackheads. They'll steal anything and sell it to get money. They don't care how much money, they'll steal a TV and sell it for $10 to buy some meth. A crackhead will do the same thing. Someone mentioned a TWEAKER....which is slang for a person who uses drugs. Not a tweaker as in someone tweaking a carb...or tinkering with carb. Meth is a huge problem in Tennessee too. Its really a shitty thing. They make that shit out of the worst fucking chemicals on earth... Imagine eating a big spoonful of House of Color clearcoat with the hardener mixed in. Thats similar to what these fools are putting into their systems. If you ever hear the term METH MOUTH...thats referring to the fact that these shit heads lose their teeth from taking this stuff. Yes, thats right. Meth is so damn bad that it ROTS your teeth out....as well as fucks up your liver, heart, and just about everything else inside of you. Meth is really dumb. Anyhow. Hope this helps clear up some things for you.
Meth is really dumb. Couple months back I was remodeling my little brothers bathroom and adding a wheel chair ramp to his house, couldn't believe the number of tweakers hanging around at the park across the street. HO's coming by offering their services and others who wanted to know if they could have anything and everything that was coming or going in to the job. Cpildn't hardly leave anything staged on his front porch w/out wondering if it would disappear, luckily for us he has a couple of very big and protective dogs whick kept most of the assholes on the sidewalk, a few more desparate ones actually came to the door. What I do know, scrap metal is and has always been a very safe commodity, but I can almost quarantee that if you advertise it free a tweaker will soon be visiting your. Check postings on Craigslist for free appliances they will often reference scrap metal. Save yourself the problems and haul your own junk away, no future inviting the devil into your own yard.
Offer a decent reward... Tell everyone you see about the situation AND the reward. Print fliers. In our experience, for evey dirt bag that rips shit off, there is a dirt bag friend who will rat him off for a couple hundred bucks. We've got a couple of sets of rims back that way. One guy would tell us within 3-4hours every time his "friend" moved a stolen set of wheels. Seriously, it works.
all speculating aside I will keep my eyes open too there a few swaps coming up Chehalis 9/24-25 Monroe 10/8-9 Bremerton 11/5-6
Who owns the property? Were their cimcumstances that made it possible that someone could dispute ownership. Real Estate Agents? Property Liens? Tax Liens? Find out who all the players are. That's a lot of work and risk for stuff that isn't high buck value. You have to work toget some money out of these items. That means that some of it must still be around, Unless the bastards had a plan to dispose of it all quickly. Like Scrap. Tweakers are notorious for stealing metal to sell. Junkies pulled all of the copper gutters and downspouts off my old middle school one weekend, (built 1916, stolen 1969)
I agree! The Harvest swap at the SW fairgrounds in THIS weekend and some of your stuff may show up there. I'll be there Sat all day and I'll keep an eye out. Josh
IF----you have anything left there is sounds like a sure fire thing they will come back for that too ....set em up....BE CAREFUL.
UPDATE tthis morning the neighbor lady stopped by my uncles today and there were men there with an old pickup hooking it up to my uncles trailer. She asked them who they were and that a lot of cars had been stolen there recently. One cussed her out and told her to mind her own business. That they worked for "the bank" and were cleaning up the property. Well.... she didnt think of calling me till just now. She actually thought four guys hooking up a trailer at 5am to a beater pickup was kosher.... well....if theyre stupid enough to come back again...I told her to please call the police on them if they show up again and she sees them.
Near as I can tell its real hard to scrap a car in Washington without a title. Is there some trick these guys could pull I don't know about it? I expect to be at both Canby and Bremerton. I'll be looking.
That sucks so bad. I am posting the link to some other homies in your area. Maybe we can help get some/all of it back. I know around here, by the time they catch the punks the stuff is all changed hands several times and is gone. Whole cars is a different deal. After posting this elsewhere and reading the comments, something became rather obvious. People you know had something to do with this, people you are maybe even close to. Look around you and I think it will start to become obvious. Who has been out there with you? What kind of friends do THEY have?
SET THEM UP!! That is probably the only way to get anything back. Plant something really cool there, and get them on camera. (motion activated would be great). Or better yet, follow them once they leave, they might lead you to it. Obviously you have to be super careful, and have a gun, but if you do locate something of yours then you can contact the cops. Hopefully they actually do their job (which it seems is extremely rare anymore) and bust these pieces of shit. I really hope that you find this stuff. I had a set of wheels stolen off of my truck and it still pisses me off a year later, I can't even imagine what it would be like to have that much stuff stolen. Good luck, I will keep my eyes open as well.
Sorry about your loss, if I were closer I'd help you hunt the bastards down. People that do this kinda stuff have big balls and little brains and no spine. We're still trying to find the bitches that burned down my buddies shop here in Selma. Well I hope you find them and when you do kick'em in the balls once for me!
Start here man, these are very good ideas man, there is no honor among thieves, at least not anymore. This is a good thing and can work in your interest dude. I am rally sorry to hear about this, a damn shame man. Good luck finding your stuff man. I'm a long ways off, but will kep an open eye anyway, you never know.
I'll keep an eye out for it as well. It would be great if you found it at a swap meet, but that would be pretty damn ballsy. Like the others said, track down whos been there, seen it, and is a shit head or rolls with shit heads. Setting them up is good, but keep your distance! They've got nothing to loose and meth heads are crazy and mean!! Try putting a wanted ad in a paper for some of the parts of the cars that were stollen. These guys might try to part it out, if its anywhere around you check it out
