We lost a great man and friend. Roy Vieux. He was a friend to all, especially us car nuts. Roy and his family have been putting on this fall festival, car cruise, burger cookout, and car show for 35 years. This one was for Roy! I made the 150 mile cruise in my roadster to spend time with his family. My friends. It was a great cruise, good burger cookout, and a really cool show in a beautiful place. I was chosen to receive Roy’s pick. I am so honored to even be considered. It wasn’t for the coolest car, or nicest car, or anything like that. Roy loved the car shows, the magazines, the people, the friends, the experience, the lifestyle of being a car guy. They told me they choose me because they saw some of that in me. I don’t even have any words for it, other than I feel extremely blessed to have been Roy’s friend, and honored to receive Roy’s pick.
Sorry to hear about the loss of Roy. I don’t believe I ever met him although I have been to that show a few times. Thanks for the coverage of the show. Lots of familiar cars in those pics. And, cool roadster.
Thanks guy! On the way back I saw that Batman was in distress. I had a few extra gallons of gas and tools so I stopped to see if I could help.
Thank you for sharing the story and the pics. I've never made it down there for the event but I'm putting it on the calendar for next year. Congratulations on the award, very kool tribute to a guy that would enjoy your roadster.
