History Roberk Guardian mirrors. What are these?

    These are the mirrors gracing the fenders of my chieftain. I have no idea what they are from or even if they are original or aftermarket. Does anybody have some insight on these?

    Definitely aftermarket, I think I have a couple in pieces. One of mine has the upright stalk drilled with 3 holes, kinda neat looking.

    I realize much time has passed so could be no one is interested ...

    I can't believe I'm seeing that photo.

    Roberk was an automotive accessories aftermarket manufacturer started after WWII by my grandfather who died in '51 or 2.

    My father took over the business and I eventually went to work for them after the army and collage in '71

    In the 60s, before my time there, my father hired a New York City based industrial designer.

    He came up with the Guardian ...

    It was a flop.

    I will never forget the thumbscrew which, after adjusting, locked the mirror head in place - you can clearly see it in the photo behind the head atop the mirror arm.

    Wow!

    How odd that I would find this thread.
