I think that was big money and "first money is best money" so I doubt if re-listed it will reach that number again. I wonder how it compares to 3WLARRY money?
I believe 3-W Larry's car was listed in Hemmings @ $145k and the ad stated that build cost was over $200k.
correct..but, if it's the only cool apple around....and two rich guys both want it....then you have an auction
This is an old trick to stirr new interest in the auction. All dropping the reserve does is notify each of the bidders via email that the owner lowered his reserve. It doesn't matter if he lowered the reserve $10.00 or $100,000...the email still goes out to all the bidders
Not to sound like a chump......but, who is Robert Lomas? (is he the british writer?). I saw the ePay auction and I have seen this staying on the front page of the HAMB and clicked on it wondering "why?".........I saw the car in a print media and it is a cool car with RARE parts, but why has everyone gotten so excited about this car? Just wondering.
Well, I'll use Beatnik's signature. " If I have to explain it to you, you probably wouldn't understand" ....................... Frank
Who is Robert Lomas, you ask...... the best answer I can give: He's just a normal everyday hard working blue collar guy who lives in Arcadia, CA (see the movie Seabiscuit to see the famous track in Arcadia). He worked hard building this Coupe saving old parts for years, combing swap meets early in the mornings, and doing most of the work himself..... all elements that you rarely find today in a car of this quality and caliber. The car is basically flawless, the famed Kennedy brothers had a hand in it, again, there are elements to this build that you find elsewhere....... I hope this answers your question. Hagen Hot Rods
